BECOME A MENTOR
The most valuable thing you can give an entrepreneur is the road you have already walked.
Mentors walk alongside entrepreneurs in the United States and Uganda, offering counsel built from real business experience.
WHAT MENTORING ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Personal, one-to-one conversations that build trust, provide guidance, and turn experience into meaningful growth. About two to three hours a month, for an initial commitment of one year.
-
A minimum of two conversations a month.
A scheduled video or phone call with the entrepreneur you are paired with. You set the times together.
-
Occasional messages between calls.
Most pairs stay in touch on WhatsApp or by text.
-
Two group touchpoints a year.
A mentor orientation before pairing, and one mid-year check-in with the Bold Creators team.
We ask mentors to commit for one year to begin with. Many relationships continue well beyond that, and often for years, but one year is what we ask you to say yes to.
You do not prepare lessons. You do not deliver curriculum. Your role is the thing the curriculum cannot do: answer the real question in front of a real business, from someone who has faced it before.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You do not need to have built a large company. You need to have built something and to be willing to be honest about it.
We ask that you:
- Have at least five years of experience running, leading, or building a business
- Are willing to commit for one year
- Are comfortable mentoring across cultures, and open to learning as much as you teach
- Share the Bold Creators conviction that business built on character and biblical principles is a genuine force for good
- Are able to meet by video call, working around a time difference for cross-border pairs
We do not ask that you:
- Have mentored formally before
- Have expertise in your entrepreneur's exact industry. Most of what matters transfers across sectors.
- Provide capital or make any financial commitment. Mentorship and giving are separate paths at Bold Creators, and you are never expected to fund the entrepreneur you mentor.
If you are not sure you qualify, apply anyway and talk to us.
HOW PAIRING WORKS
-
1
You submit the mentor interest form.
Name, telephone number, email, industry, and why you want to mentor.
-
2
We have a conversation.
A short call or email exchange so we understand your background, your capacity, and what you are hoping for.
-
3
We pair you with purpose.
We look at industry and business stage first, then the specific challenge the entrepreneur has, then practical fit including language, time zone, and availability.
-
4
We introduce you.
The team makes the introduction, sets expectations with both of you, and gives you a guide for the first conversation.
-
5
We stay in it with you.
We check in at three months and again at mid-year. If a pairing is not working, tell us. Re-matching is normal.
WHY IT MATTERS
Uganda holds extraordinary entrepreneurial promise. Capital and training programs exist. What remains scarce is access to people who have actually built and scaled a business and are willing to stay in a relationship long enough to be useful.
Equip the entrepreneur, and the impact compounds for generations.
